Thematic Analysis on COVID-19 Photojournalism in Indonesia

The spread of COVID-19 in Indonesia is massive terms sufferers. This article aims to seek how national photo news agency ANTARA visualized the pandemic as part contribution research communication field. By utilizing thematic analysis and qualitative approach, researchers want identify, analyze, organize, describe, report particular themes within an extensive data set 466 photojournalism. photos collected from www.antarafoto.com, start 1 May until 12 2020. finding shows that current Indonesian condition facing 8 main themes, determined countless efforts photojournalists working with a new protocol, simultaneously also face resistance society. most popular theme produced by economics (183 photos), Social (164), health (80). Discussion on divided into specific topics, namely location, subject’s gender, photographic image format, category. visual ethics field, communicate symbols reality real world frame change people’s views about amid increasingly uncontrolled infodemic flow.
